About Calicut University CAP 2025
The University of Calicut (UOC) conducts a single-window "Centralized Admission Process" (CAP) for admissions to its Undergraduate (UGCAP) and Postgraduate (PGCAP) programs. This system allows candidates to submit a single application for multiple colleges and courses affiliated with the university, ensuring a transparent and merit-based allotment.
For the 2025-26 academic year, the process is entirely online. Candidates must register on the official portal admission.uoc.ac.in, upload documents, and pay fees to participate in the allotment.
UGCAP 2025 Comprehensive Guide
Eligibility Criteria
- General: Pass in +2 (HSE/CBSE/ICSE) or equivalent.
- B.Sc Science: Must have studied relevant science subjects.
- B.Com/BBA: Minimum 45% aggregate (relaxation for SC/ST).
- B.A. Programs: Pass in qualifying exam.
Index Mark Calculation
Rank is determined by "Index Marks" which includes:
- Total Marks: Marks obtained in +2.
- Subject Weightage: Bonus marks for studying the subject at +2 level.
- Bonus Points: NCC, NSS, Ex-Service (+15 points).
- Penalty: -10 marks for each competitive attempt.
Step-by-Step Registration Process
Create CAP ID
Visit admission portal, enter mobile number & Aadhaar to generate a unique CAP ID and Password. Keep this safe!
Enter Student Profile
Fill in basic details, reservation claims (EWS/OBC/SC/ST), and academic marks. Double-check +2 marks entry as errors affect ranking.
College & Course Selection
Select colleges and courses in order of preference. You can modify this during the "Trial Allotment" phase.
Fee Payment & Final Submit
Pay the registration fee online. Once submitted, verify the printout ("Draft" applications are rejected).
PGCAP 2025 Details
For M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, and other PG courses, the process is similar to UGCAP. However, some courses (like M.Sc. General Biotechnology) may require a separate entrance exam (CUCAT).
